and lastly Ryan Charles is the only one on Bitcoin community who I respect and he made a choice.

He didn't make a choice. He had "NO CHOICE"

That's the first thing you said that was correct.

The funny thing is The SV side has no problem with all those patents.

Patents are one of many unavoidable things in life. It's the lesser evil. Besides, they only affect counterparty risk, not private transactions. There's no incentive otherwise.

Patents mean control. Trying to widdle away the competition. Blah Blah Blah.

Intellectual property law creates an upward pressure on innovation. The countries with the strongest intellectual property laws are the most prosperous in the world for a reason.

400 patents on blockchain. You would defend party poop if you had to.

Patents are about new ideas. The competition is left behind.

The only people who hate patents are non-creative people who are jealous of true innovators.... Also the Chinese government. But I repeat myself.

No the guy who is "Supposedly" creating money for the world, has patents to "Protect" his investment. He want's to own the SV Chain.

Look like I have a stalker lol. It's a long term effect but you're going to have fewer engineers if it's tougher to make money engineering. It's that simple.

memo is a small world :( locking competitors out, while increasing pay to engineers, also results in lazier engineers who are comfortable with their enterprise contracts

The laws aren't perfect, I'll agree with you there. Though without the protection of patent law, they probably would have no contract in the first place. Complex subject for sure.

Personally I think there should be a short window of time to allow the inventor/songwriter/author etc. to make some money then transfer to public domain. Disney's 75 yr. rule is nuts.
replied 1955d
totally agree about disney. I value ideas less & dont think they are worth anything if they cannot be properly executed. so reduce power of patents better rewards execution & results.
