There won't be a fork. BU with long chains is compatible with ABC or any other node. To long to explain here but there is in BU a way to handle the double spend vectors.
Unless they relay them (and I hear BCHD still does) then, it's effectively a no-starter for below-minfee txs from the user side...
You're right, ABC and BU nodes do not route anything under 1 sat/byte by default. BU made the change last release, but you can still configure a BU node to do it if you want.

I'm updating it to connect to multiple nodes, I suspect that might be part of the issue.
Most node software has single threaded message processing...When a block processes then the queue is jammed until the block finishes. Only BU nodes are unaffected by this.
None of you want to actually fight claims of centralization. No matter. We will take down BCash and fork your chain into oblivion once @Bitpico has all the nodes he needs. Show, not tell.
